If your car is in the shop and you are told you need repairs that could cost hundreds of dollars, do yourself a favor and take the car to another shop (if it is drivable and if not get pricing over the phone) and get a competitive bid. A friend’s referral can be helpful when locating another shop. Make sure you know what you are authorizing before you spend hundreds in tear down and diagnostic fees when you first drop the car off at the shop.
